BECOME A STORY SKIRTER

Want to BECOME A STORY SKIRTER?

The Story Skirt Project uses skirts made of African political fabrics to document how black women from U.S. families feel about having a their 1st black president and to pass their stories on to future generations. If you are a black woman from a US family, you can join in 3 easy steps:

1. Register:

Email Transmission.Completed[at]gmail.com. Please put "Story Skirter Registration" in the subject line. In the body of the email tell us what state(s) the black folks in your family are from. We will reply and help you complete steps 2 & 3.

2. Get a skirt

Whatever your budget is, we can help you get one.

3. Share your story:

- Vow to leave your skirt to a younger woman in your family and pass your story along with it.
- Send your photo & profile questions to Transmission.Completed[at]gmail.com so that we can add them to next year's Black Presidents' Day Exhibit and share your story with the public.
